After becoming debilitated by Fibromyalgia and autoimmune disease in my early twenties, I spent years trying different prescription medications, supplements, and alternative therapies, desperate for any kind of relief. I needed a cane even for short walks, and was accustomed to being incapacitated for days after doing anything physically demanding.
Strength training has allowed me to recover and reclaim movement in ways I never believed possible, and I have made it my mission to share the life-changing benefits of weightlifting with other chronically ill and disabled people, as well as with the general population!
I believe in using fun, humor, and pain-free movement modifications to help people build new and joyful relationships with exercise. Weight lifting is adaptive by nature, and I live by the philosophy that just about anyone can lift.
I have lived experience of Autism, ADHD, and C-PTSD, and I strive to make my practice an accessible and understanding one. I know that movement can be mentally and emotionally complex, especially for my fellow queer and trans folks, and for anyone with medical trauma!
Areas of Focus:
Fibromyalgia
Hypermobility
Autoimmune conditions, mental health and addiction, PTSD/C-PTSD, Autism and sensory processing disorders, powerlifting, post-partum strength training, gender affirming fitness.
